Ronald Ward

Ronald Ward is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Law Enforcement at U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services National Training Academy. The United States Probation & Pretrial Services National Training Academy was established in 2005 in FLETC-Charleston. With over 46 years in the industry, FLETC has provided law enforcement training to several officers. In addition, FLETC specializes in, “firearms, driving, tactics, investigations, and legal training.” In addition the agency recognizes the, “quantitative and qualitative benefits from this model, including the efficiencies inherent in shared services, higher quality training, and improved interoperability.” Their mission is to train all those who protect the American frontier. The purpose of this division was to, “to provide newly appointed U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services officers with the skills necessary to safely begin their new careers.” The Academy hopes to provide officers with the essential skills needed to assist them in their endeavors and provide training models for state and local departments. With over twenty five years in the industry, Ward has had several years of experience in law enforcement. Prior to serving in his current role as Division Chief and Academy Director, Ward served as deputy sheriff and later became a state probation officer. He has served in his current role as a U.S. Probation Officer, for over fourteen years. Throughout the duration of his career, Ward acquired a wide range of skills and expertise that includes firearms safety & instruction of search team members. As a leader in the development of Edged Weapons System, Ward served as an overseer for 33 employees. In addition, Ward also serves as an educator in criminal justice at Strayer University and is considering becoming a professor in the near future. Throughout the course of his education, Ward attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Emory and Henry College located in Emory, Virginia. He later went onto pursue his Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Mountain State University, Beckley, West Virginia. In an effort to further enhance his knowledge within the field, Ward served as Former Chair and is currently a member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation board. The board hopes to serve the nation by, “promoting professionalism, excellence, and competence in training throughout the federal law enforcement community.” Ronald Ward Dedicates this recognition to his two daughters Haley Ridley and Jansen Ward.
