Valerie Bryan, Ed.D., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of her contributions to the field of Higher Education. Founded in 1961, Florida Atlantic University was established in the Boca Raton area, and offers a wide range of academic programs and services. The University provides a foundation for students seeking out high educational opportunities. With its diverse course offerings, FAU assists individuals in pursuing their scholarly endeavors. With experience in the industry since 1980, Dr. Bryan has been part of the faculty at FAU, her alma mater, since 1987. As a Professor in Educational Leadership and Research Methodology and the Charles Stewart Mott Eminent Scholar for Community Education at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Dr. Bryan utilizes her expertise in educational administration and leadership, as well as mentoring. In addition, Dr. Bryan is active in “course design management, adult learning, aging, integration of technology, and a host of other subjects, online, in stand-up-mode, that embraces virtual learning communities and enhanced staff productivity using a varying of technology-based tools.” She also specializes in research and consulting that focuses on mentoring and other various fields. Dr. Bryan earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Research Methodology (Adult and Community Education) from FAU. Prior to earning her Doctorate, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Park Management from Clemson University, her Master’s degree in Secondary School Administration at the Citadel and completed coursework toward a Ph.D. In Recreation and Park Administration at the University of Georgia. “I am active in the integration of technology, research, and grant writing for senior adults, individuals with literacy or language deficiencies, career and vocational trainees and community collaborative,” Dr. Bryan said. With a number of accomplishments and accolades as a result of her commitment to higher education, Dr. Bryan has earned a host of awards, including “Legacymakers: 100 Women of Distinction,” “2015 International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of fame,” the “Woman of Outstanding Leadership Award” from the International Women’s Leadership Association and FAU’s “Unsung Hero Award for Mentoring”. The author of several books and numerous academic articles and publications, Dr. Bryan is an affiliate of both the American Educational Research Association and the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education. Dr. Bryan dedicates this recognition to the loving memory of her father, Joseph Aaron Carson, a U.S. Army Veteran who was disabled in his service.
