Jeanne Elinor Karison is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Education at Roanoke Chowan Community College. Located in the heart of North Carolina, Roanoke Chowan Community College assists students in their pursuit of higher education. With over 20 curricular programs where students are able to pursue higher level education, the college has also expanded its distance-learning education program, which encompasses internet based courses. RCCC’s mission is to, “provide world-class life-long educational and workforce training in order to meet the emerging needs of the community and to improve the quality of life for the students we server.” In addition, they envision that the college will be a, “world class institution positively changing the lives of those served.” At RCCC, their hope is for students to be able to “high quality instruction and service, innovation, access, social awareness, fairness, respect, accountability, equity and community development.” Amassing several years of experience throughout the years, Karison is specialized in the areas of Reading, Writing, Comprehension, Higher Education and Student Services. A Faculty Member of Roanoke Chowan Community specializing in Education, Karison has made several contributions to the scholarly world having authored and contributed to several publications. Furthermore, Karison has served on several committees throughout the course of her career including the Academic Affairs Committee, Community Outreach Committee, N.C.A.T.E. Conceptual Framework Committee, Outreach Committee, and Researcher and Writer, N.C.A.T.E. Throughout the course of her education, Karison attended Old Dominion University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and English Education. Later, she then attended the University of Virginia where she received her Master of Education. Lastly, she attended Auburn University where she received her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. To further her professional advancement, Karison is an affiliate of several organizations including Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Delta Kappa, Philanthropic Educational Organization, and N.C.A.D.E. In addition, Karison has attended several symposiums such as the NCDPI Conference on Raising Achievement and Closing the Gap, NCDPI Curriculum and School Reform, and the P.E.O.
