Attorney Truax is frequently selected to represent children in contested custody cases as both an attorney for minor children (AMC) and guardian ad Litem (GAL). An affiliate of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Truax has presented at the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial lawyers biannual seminars in 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. An extensive lecturer, she has presented a program for the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Rhode Island Chapter pertaining to the “Direct and Cross Examination of Psychological Experts.” Throughout the course of her education, Truax received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont in 1983. Truax later went onto receive her J.D. (Cum Laude) from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in 1993 and was then admitted into practice later on that year in the state of Connecticut. In addition, she has published several works and is the Editor in Chief and author of 3 chapters of the LexisNexis publication “Connecticut Family Law”, originally published in 2013 and updated annually. Truax has written several articles regarding Family Law, which includes, “Superior Court Highlights” for the Connecticut Family Lawyer and “Deposition Strategies” for the Family advocate.
