LaKeitha Bryant is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the Government field. Ms. Bryant’s professional title is Homeland Security Grant Manager for Harris County, Texas, acting as a liaison between the state and the local government. She brings over 16 years of governmental experience, as well as expertise in grants management, internal auditing, accounting and inventory control, to her role. “Harris County is governed by Harris County Commissioners Court,” the county’s website states. “The court is composed of a county judge and four commissioners. The county judge is elected countywide, and each commissioner is elected by precinct. The county judge is the county’s chief executive and a voting member of Commissioners Court. According to state statute, the county judge also is the county’s director of emergency management.” The Office of Homeland Security for Harris County is based out of Judge Ed Emmett’s office. “As Harris County’s chief executive officer, Judge Emmett is responsible for working with four county commissioners to oversee a county government serving more than four million remarkably diverse residents,” the judge’s website states. “Judge Emmett believes strongly that vision, planning and teamwork are the keys to maintaining Harris County’s economic strength and its commitment to opportunity and a unique quality of life for every resident.” In order to best serve her role, Ms. Bryant is a Certified Grants Manager. To further her professional development, she is the current President of Women Professionals in Government. She also serves as a National Grant Council member for the first African-American business sorority for women, IOTA Phi Lambda. When not working, Ms. Bryant devotes her time to numerous community groups and area charities, including: various children’s charities, Dress For Success, the Black Professionals Cowboys and Cowgirls Association, and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. She is not only a business woman but she is also a cowgirl whose family owns four horses.
