Carolyn Ann Kingsbury

Continental Who’s Who recognizes Carolyn Ann Kingsbury as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Aeronautics. Although she is now retired, she has had over 20 years of career experience in the Aeronautics/Aerospace industry. She also holds the titles of professional writer and craftsman. Her professional expertise is Aerospace Engineering, and she has worked with numerous organizations as a systems engineer, software engineer and research engineer. Some of the companies that she has worked for include; Rockwell International, the Northrop Corporation, and Hughes Aircraft Company. She has also worked on the Seattle Space Shuttle. Kingsbury earned her B.Sc. in Mathematics and Information & Computer Sciences from the University of California, Irvine in 1979 before going on to earn her Postgraduate degree from West Coast University in 1984. To further her professional development, she has held memberships and other affiliations with various organizations. She is the past President of the Parent-Teacher’s Association of Manhattan Beach, the former Cub Scout den mother at a local chapter of Boy Scouts of America, a past member of the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital Guild, the National Association of Female Executives, the American Association of University Women, the National Management Association, and the past President of the Newtowners Club. Kingsbury is the recipient of several awards due to outstanding work in her field. These honors and awards include; the Service Award from California Congress Parents and Teachers, which she received in 1973; the Leadership Achievement Award from Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Los Angeles in 1980 and 1984; and the National Aeronautics Space Administration Achievement Award in 1983. When she is not working, Kingsbury enjoys interacting with animals. “I love animals,” she said, “especially the Elephant.” Her advice to others is to, “Never give up, and expose yourself to all types of fields.” She has a husband and two wonderful children, and she dedicates this recognition, “To my husband Jim, for your continuing love and support.”
