Mary Ellen Ledbetter is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Education. Mary is a National Speaker and Author with MEL’s Pen, LLC. A published author and instructor, Mary has been in the education industry for over 40 years. She is an esteemed English and Language Arts expert and devotes her career to helping children
across the world become better readers and writers. Specializing in educational consulting, curriculum development and design, program development and training as well as writing and editing, Mary’s incomparable knowledge is frequently sought by schools and administrations across the nation. To help students’ writing come to life, Mary created an amazing technique that she calls Smiley-Face Tricks. With over six methods to be used, each one is a fun and easy way to get students to think and write more creatively. Mary also has YouTube videos that children can use in preparation for quizzes and assignments for enrichment purposes. The author of over 20 books, Mary has been presented with countless industry related honors and awards. She received the Goose Creek CISD Board of Education’s award for Outstanding Teaching as well as the Bellevue, Washington Bureau of Education and Research’s Distinguished Teaching and Outstanding Contributions to the Education Profession award. Mary is also a three-time Bell Award recipient.
In addition to working with children, Mary has reached over 175,000 teachers in regards to improvement methods of English and Language Arts. Well known for her fast-paced and strategy-packed seminars, Mary is extremely passionate about the concerns of teachers, curriculum directors, and administrators. Throughout the course of her education and training, Mary earned her Master’s degree in English from Michigan State University. She initially began her educational career with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Speech from Western Michigan University. In the years to come, Mary would like to continue helping students and administrators across the globe through various programs, seminars and workshops.
