George Sanford, P.E., is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Pinnacle Professionals in the field of Engineering. George is the President, Owner and Principal of Sanford Engineering, P.C. Established in 2003, Sanford Engineering, P.C. offers Structural Design and Engineering Consulting services to the neighboring Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley tri-state areas. With close ties to the community, Sanford Engineering prides itself on their client relations and customer service; they are well known, referred, and most importantly, respected by the local community.
With nearly three decades of experience in the industry, George is a seasoned engineering professional who works closely with new construction, project planning and management, product design, structural analysis, manufacturing, operations management, and more. He oversees the business’ daily operations, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in both North and South Carolina. In addition, George is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and he co-authored an article in Mechanical Engineering Magazine, titled “Verifying Ventilation Flows".
One of his most memorable career accomplishments has been the grant of a U.S. Patent (#5,517,862): "Apparatus and Method for Measuring Ventilation Flow Exiting a Spinning Rotor", and he was the recipient of the George Westinghouse Corporate Innovation Award in 1996 as well. A member of SEI, AISC, and ASME, George received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
