Debra A. Sherwood is recognized by Continental Who’s Who among Outstanding Professionals in the field of Fine Art. Debra is the Founder and Executive Director with the Center for Art and Mindfulness. Founded in 2011, The Center for Art and Mindfulness is a nonprofit organization offering diverse exhibitions and arts and craft classes within the teachings of mindfulness.
The center provides insight for both children and adults to be on an even playing field in the economic world with the use of artistic themes and children’s artwork to excite the mind, ultimately provoking self-awareness and thought. As Founder and Executive Director, Debra oversees the daily activities of the art center, and works closely with fine art, arts education and administration. She has experience in curating, contemporary art, visual arts, and more.
Debra maintains affiliation with the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW), UJA Federation, Anti-Defamation League (ADL), YWCA, Bruce Museum, The Whitney Museum, Greenwich Library and the Walker Art Gallery. Moreover, Debra was recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of The Year, and enjoys travel, gardening and cooking in her spare time. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from the University of Washington, and earned a BA in Fine Arts from Minnesota State University at Moorhead.
