As a board-certified and highly distinguished Endodontic and Root Canal Specialist, Dr. Kotler has led an outstanding career having accrued 47 years of professional excellence. He is a licensed dentist in Virginia since 1973 and devotes his practice to endodontics with a focus primarily on the root tissues of your teeth. In his current capacity, he has served as the owner of his private practice for 27 years and continues to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and integrity in his endeavors. A diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, he strives to exceed in his ability to help his patients have a healthy, happy smile.

An academic scholar, Dr. Kotler completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami where he obtained his bachelor of science degree and double majored in biology and chemistry. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the Medical College of Virginia, and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Oral Biology from George Washington University. Furthering his training, he currently holds a Certificate in Endodontics from the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. In 1994 he retired from the

U.S. Army Dental Corps as Chief of the Department of Dentistry and Chief of Endodontics for the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. He was also the Chief of Professional Services (Endodontics) in Frankfurt, Germany, and retired as a full Colonel.

To stay up-to-date with the latest developments in his field, Dr. Kotler maintains active memberships with professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, and the Virginia Academy of Endodontics as Past President. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.

In his spare time, Dr. Kotler is an avid golfer and skier. He also serves as the District Vice Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America. An Eagle Scout, he has been awarded the Silver Beaver, Order of the Arrow, and the Founders Award, a national distinction.
