Orlando Anthony Galindez, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Ophthalmology as an Ophthalmologist.
Ophthalmology is the treatment and diagnosis of eye diseases and the performance of eye surgery if necessary. With 30 years’ experience in the medical field, Dr. Orlando A. Galindez has had over 25 years’ experience practicing in South Florida. He focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, including vision loss, cataracts and glaucoma, laser retina surgery, refractive surgery, and lens replacement operations. He has been highly respected by his peers and in addition to providing outstanding ophthalmologic care to his patients, often serves as a consultant for complex community cases.
After completing undergraduate studies at Tulane University, where he was recognized for academic excellence and inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta as well as Beta Beta National Honor Societies, Dr. Galindez completed a Master of Anatomy at the Tulane University School of Medicine. At Tulane, he engaged in research, publications, and assisted in undergraduate medical education. Dr. Galindez then completed his medical education and was awarded his Medical Degree at Tulane. Dr. Galindez was invited to complete Ophthalmology residency training at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, followed by a prestigious advanced Cornea and Refractive Fellowship at the Louisiana State University in New Orleans. At LSU he received advanced training in general ophthalmology, cornea and external eye disease, glaucoma, and refractive surgery. After completion of his ophthalmologic training, Dr. Galindez moved to Miami, Florida where he has been practicing Ophthalmology for over twenty-five years. He has served as past Chief of Ophthalmology at Coral Gables Hospital as well as past community clinical faculty at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He remains active at the Mercy Hospital Bayside Ambulatory Surgical Center, as well as Coral Gables, Hialeah and Larkin Community Hospitals.
Dr. Galindez has always been committed to providing the highest eye care possible and has been recognized for his surgical expertise. He is an active Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and participates in the latest surgical courses, symposiums and AAO conferences. He serves as clinical faculty for Florida International University, where he volunteers in the education of international medical students interested in the field of ophthalmology. Since 2019, Dr. Galindez has also been involved in graduate medical education, serving as clinical faculty for the Larkin Community Hospital Ophthalmology Residency Program. He volunteers regularly, educating ophthalmology residents in the latest ophthalmologic surgical techniques. Dr. Galindez maintains his active ophthalmology practice in Miami and is committed to providing excellence in complete eye care.
