Gerald L. Woolam, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as a Retired Surgeon at Lubbock Surgical Associates.
From 1968 to 2017, Dr. Woolam served as a general surgeon at Lubbock. Leading an impressive career for more than 4 decades, he has developed a laudable reputation for being a top surgeon in Lubbock County. He specializes in general surgery and surgical oncology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Woolam served in varied clinical and educational positions, such as chief medical officer at Southwest Life and Health/Firstcare and a clinical professor at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Growing up, Dr. Woolam’s mother worked as a nurse in urology. She thought Gerald was going to become a cardiologist. Before he began his career, he attended Baylor College for a Doctorate of Medicine worked as a resident. He remained active in his field, having previously served as the national president of the American Cancer Society.
For his success as a surgeon, Dr. Woolam received recognition from the Press County Medical Society. In Dr. Woolam’s spare time, he enjoys ranching.
