J. Scott Henning, DO, FAAD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Dermatology as a Dermatologist at Henning Dermatology Group.

Located at 150 N Finley Avenue, Suite 205, Henning Dermatology Group is a modern and innovative facility. What makes the office unique in its field is how the staff actively listens to patients’ complaints. They strive to reshape how dermatology operates by focusing on what matters most to the patient. Henning Dermatology Group offers a wide array of services including dermatologic surgery, medical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, immunodermatology, cosmetic dermatology, hair/scalp dermatology, skin cancer treatment, and temporary conditions. Dr. Henning opened the office in January of 2019.

Dr. Henning is the type of dermatologist who diagnoses conditions that are difficult to identify. He receives many complex case referrals. His areas of expertise include dermoscopy (Epiluminescent Skin Microscopy), skin cancer, psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis. Backed by nearly two decades of experience, he has leveraged himself as a consummate dermatologist. He is considered a ‘Doctor’s Doctors’, treating many patients who are physicians.

An academic scholar, Dr. Henning earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with a minor in math and psychology from Mid America Nazarene College in Kansas. After a three-year break, he attended medical school, earning a Doctorate of Osteopathy from Western University of Health Sciences in California. He completed an internal medicine internship at Madigan Army Medical Center and a three-year dermatologic residency at New York University where he was chief resident. In 2010, he enrolled again in higher education, receiving a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

A devoted citizen, Dr. Henning served fifteen years in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army, ending his service as a lieutenant colonel and a veteran of Kosovo and Iraq. He also served a two-year medical operations tour in Germany, assigned to ½ 6th Infantry Battalion.

Highly respected in his field, Dr. Henning is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. A published author, he has shared his knowledge in numerous publications on dermoscopy and other dermatology subjects. A sought-after-speaker, he has presented at medical meetings nationally and internationally. He is well-respected medical educator. He taught residents at in the U.S. Army Dermatology at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) for five years. Currently, he serves as a preceptor for primary care residents at Morristown Hospital.

Outside of work, Dr. Henning volunteers on the governing board of Christ Church Nursery School and as a camp medical director at Cora Hartshorn Arboretum. He has been married to his wife for eleven years and has three children.

Dr. Henning dedicates this recognition to his uncle and mentor Bob Roberts, MD, and dermatopathologist mentor Mike Murchland, MD.
