Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Advanced Heart Failure and Geriatric Medicine, Dr. Chapel is an expert in cardiology, heart failure and transplantation with over 37 years of experience. A leader in his field, Dr. Chapel serves as a presenterand maintains a number of hospital affiliations including, Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, East Morgan County Hospital, McKee Medical Center, North Colorado Medical Center, Ogallala Community Hospital and Sterling Regional MedCenter. Dr. Chapel remains abreast of the changes in his field through addition certifications and continuing education opportunities. His knowledge of the field is revered as he has been invited to contribute in several major medical journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
Dr. Chapel earned a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Colorado, Denver School of Medicine; during which he was honored with the American Heart Association Scholarship. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Creighton Affiliated Hospitals and his fellowship in Cardiology at the University Of Tennessee Medical Center. He is an esteemed Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and affiliated with the American College of Physicians and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
In his free time, Dr. Chapel enjoys traveling and listening to country music.
