Rakhee M. Bowker, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as a Neonatal/Perinatal Specialist at Rush University Medical Center.

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center, Dr. Bowker is responsible for caring for critically ill newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), providing antenatal consultation to women with pregnancies affected by fetal anomalies at the Fetal Neonatal Medicine Center (FNMC), and training future physicians. Dr. Bowker is double Board Certified in Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, undoubtedly possessing extraordinary knowledge in her industry as she is commonly regarded as a positive leader and valuable asset to the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Neonatology. Dr. Bowker places a unique emphasis on streamlining care during pregnancy and after delivery for women with high risk pregnancies to ease their transition into motherhood when their newborn requires NICU admission after delivery, and seeks to provide each precious, vulnerable infant with the very best start to life possible. Dr. Bowker is dedicated to excellent care for her patients and to the education of the next generation of healthcare providers.

Beginning her career as a student at Brown University, Dr. Bowker graduated Magna Cum Laude with Departmental Honors in Biomedical Ethics in 2004. She went on to complete her medical training at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons where she received her Doctorate of Medicine degree in 2009. In 2012, Dr. Bowker completed a Pediatric Residency training program at Columbia University Medical Center’s Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. She completed a Fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL, in 2016.

Highly regarded in her field, Dr. Bowker has received a multitude of notable accolades and honors throughout her career. Awarded to women graduating in the top 10 percent of their medical school class, Dr. Bowker was the 2009 recipient of the Glasgow-Rubin Achievement Award from the American Medical Women’s Association. In 2014, she was inducted into the International Women’s Leadership Association. She has received the Frederic M. Kenney Award for Outstanding Abstract Presentation by a Fellow at the Midwest Society for Pediatric Research Annual Meeting and the SPR Travel Award to Enhance Diversity in the Research Workforce, in recognition of achievements in Pediatric Research, at the 2017 Annual Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting in San Francisco, CA. In 2017 Dr. Bowker was selected as “Top Neonatologist of the Year” by the International Association of Top Professionals.

At no time straying far from her expertise, Dr. Bowker is a consistent donor and volunteer for the March of Dimes, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the health of mothers and babies.

Dr. Bowker would like to dedicate this recognition to the memory of her mentor, Dr. Kathryn N. Farrow, a superlative physicianscientist, outstanding teacher, devoted wife and mother, and dear friend. She would also like to express her gratitude to her family for their unwavering love and support.
