James M. Henry, MD is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the field of Medicine as a Neuropathologist at University of Texas Health Science Center. With nearly 50 years of experience in the medical field, James M. Henry, MD is also a Professor of Neuropathology at University of Texas Health Science Center.
Specializing in Neuropathology as well as Neurology, Dr. Henry states, “I have always been interested in the mind.” Throughout his career, Dr. Henry has taught hundreds of military and civilian residents in neurology, neurosurgery, and pathology. Having served his country, Dr. Henry is also a retired Army Colonel.
Throughout his education and training, Dr. Henry received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Julius-Maximilians-Universitaet in Germany, completed his residencies at Letterman General Hospital (1969) and finished his Fellowship at Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (1971). Subsequently, Dr. Henry spent a decade as Chief, Division of Neuropathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology.
To further his professional development, Dr. Henry is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Neuropathology. Following his completion of the Army’s “Command and General Staff” program, Dr. Henry was Deputy Commander of the U.S. Army Hospital in Stuttgart Germany; as Army Hospital commander in Würzburg, Germany and the Army Hospital Commander in Ft. Knox, KY. He is the recipient of 3 iterations of the Legion of Merit and the German Cross of Honor. Additionally, in recognition of his professional accolades, Dr. Henry has been honored with multiple professorships overseas and in the United States. He was also recognized as one of the “Best Doctor’s in San Antonio” for two consecutive years, a ”Top Pathologist in San Antonio” by the Leading Physicians of the World and “Top Neuropathologist in San Antonio” by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals.
Outside of work, Dr. Henry enjoys reading German and English lyric poetry and traveling to Germany.
