Bashir A. Chowdhry, MD is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional for his work as a Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon at Sunrise Hospital.
Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center is a medical institution that has been functioning for over half a century, providing care to the population of Nevada.
Dr. Bashir A. Chowdhry, a surgeon with Sunrise Hospital, has been working in the medical field for just over four decades. His work’s primary focus is Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular surgery, which pertains to the lung and chest area and heart and veins, respectively. In his time working as a surgeon, he has become a leader in his field through research on valve start replacement. Dr. Chowdhry hopes that his experiences and successes can help to inspire other potential surgeons in developing countries.
In his attendance at King Edward Medical College located in Lahore, Pakistan, Dr. Chowdhry earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. He later completed an Internship at Toledo Hospital in Ohio, a residency at SUNY Buffalo’s School of Medicine and J. Meyer Memorial Hospital. He is a board-approved General Surgeon.
Dr. Chowdhry is currently a professional member of the International College of Surgeons, as well as the American Medical Association.
When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Chowdhry enjoys giving back to people both in his home country, and locally as a Chairman of the Islamic Society of Nevada.
Dr. Chowdhry dedicates this recognition to his mentor, George Schmit, MD, Chairman of Cardiovascular Surgery at J. Meyer Memorial SUNY. He also dedicates this recognition to his three sons, his daughter, and wife, all of whom are accomplished doctors and professionals.
