D. Barker, MD is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Professional Member in the field of Medicine in recognition of his role as a Family Physician at Mercy Tri City Medicine. Amassing over twenty nine years of experience in the field of medicine, Dr. Barker has specialized in primary care and family medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Barker has gained expertise within the areas of bronchitis, acne allergies, hypertension, sleep apnea, depressive disorders and obesity. In addition, Dr. Barker also is adept in administering vaccination and immunization shots. Having been inspired to go into the medical field at an early age, Dr. Barker gravitated towards family medicine and enjoys treating and being friends with patients from newborns to elderly. Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, throughout the course of his education and training Dr. Barker graduated from Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine located in Dayton Ohio where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. Thereafter, Dr. Barker completed his internship and residence at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. To further his professional development, Dr. Barker is an affiliate of several organizations including Mercy Regional Medical Center, St. John’s Medical Center and the University Hospital Elyria Medical Center. When asked his advice to newcomers in the industry, Dr. Barker advises it is best to, “be yourself and have fun.” Attributing his success to his ability to treat patients like friends, Dr. Barker states that the root causes of patient’s ailments must be investigated.
