Claudette M. Betty

Continental Who’s Who recognizes Claudette M. Betty as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Nursing. Claudette is currently a Registered Nurse at New Horizons of Treasure Coast Florida, a nationally recognized private psychiatric hospital, operating in Fort Pierce, Florida, that serves patients of all ages, but specializes in adult psychiatric rehabilitation. Some specialty programs offered at the hospital include; a ‘Transition Age’ program for patients aged 18 to 25 years old, programs for adults with serious mental illness, programs for people with mental health and substance abuse disorders, and forensic clients. They also offer primary care services, as well as crisis services, and an entire Children’s Mental Health department. Amassing more than 60 years in the healthcare industry, Claudette’s professional expertise consists of; addiction counseling, inpatient and outpatient counseling for mental health, family intervention services, detoxification, and chemical dependency. However, she highly values holistic healing practices, and has given presentations on the subject throughout her career. This interest eventually led her to begin doing ‘Source Healing’ in the capacity of a private practice at Spark of Divine Healing and Learning Center located in Vero Beach, FL. Prior to working at New Horizons, she held positions as a Registered Nurse at Florida Recovery Center, and as a Detox Nurse and Counselor at the Rushford Center, located in Middletown, Connecticut. After earning a Diploma in Nursing from St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1957, Claudette took some time to further her career before returning to school in 1996, and graduating from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1998. She is also a Certified Holistic Practitioner, a Reiki Master, and a Shaman Practitioner. In order to further her professional development, Claudette remains a member of her local Chamber of Commerce, and has been recognized by Oxford Who’s Who for her outstanding work in her field. She has also authored a book on holistic healing and health, entitled, ‘Creating a Wholesome Human Being,’ a book that she authored at 78 years of age. The book delves into Betty’s, “journey from a traumatized child to a transformed woman.” The story reveals that she, “spent 25 years in therapy to heal from the abusive behaviors of several alcoholic and drug-addicted family members and losing my father and two brothers to suicide. Through therapeutic interventions, Reiki energy medicine, and Shamanic healing, I was able to establish coping skills to assist me in moving beyond my pain to find healing and peace.” When not working, Claudette enjoys playing golf, spending time in nature, socializing, and traveling.
