Dr. James Zender

Continental Who’s Who recognizes Dr. James Zender as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Psychology. Dr. Zender is currently a private practice psychologist who is nationally renowned for his work. Although much of his involvement with large scale traumatic events or disasters is confidential, his evaluating, consulting, and training services have been utilized following events such as; acts of terrorism, law enforcement crises, airline crashes, and more. With over 30 years of career experience, Dr. Zender’s areas of professional expertise include clinical and forensic psychology, and trauma, particularly auto-accident trauma and treatment. He began pursuing psychology shortly after attending Ohio State University, where he was a member of Phi Eta Sigma. Dr. Zender’s website reveals that, “Prior to private practice, he worked as a clinical psychologist at Providence Hospital and Ypsilanti Regional Psychiatric Hospital. He was the founding director of the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Psychological Trauma at Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center —one of the premier trauma hospitals worldwide— where he also served as Instructor in Psychiatry.” Currently, Dr. Zender continues to lecture and share his strategies to cope with and overcome trauma with audiences of all kinds, as well as perform inspirational or instructional public speaking at conferences, seminars, and for large corporations. Some of the organizations that he has spoken for and hold memberships to include; The National Organization for Victim Assistance, The American Psychological Association, and The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, just to name a few. To further his professional development, Dr. Zender remains involved with many prestigious organizations. He is a Member of the Michigan Psychological Association, the Brain Injury Association of Michigan, the National Safety Council, and a volunteer speaker for EndDD. Additionally, he is formerly a Contributing Editor of The Forensic Examiner, a Journal of the American College of Forensic Examiners, where he is also a member and Life Fellow.
