Misbah Khan, FAAD, FACMS, is recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in the field of Medicine in recognition of her role as Owner & Founder of M Khan Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery. Located in the heart of New York, M Khan Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery specializes in dermatology services and cosmetic procedures. Offering a wide array of services to their clients, the medical practice ensures that their patients receive quality service utilizing the latest innovations made in the cosmetic world. Amassing over seven years of experience in the field and four years of experience in her current role as founder of her own surgical practice, in this capacity, Dr. Khan specializes in various surgical techniques including, Labiaplasty, Chin and Jaw line Sculpting, Arm and Ankle Contouring, Cleavage Rejuvenation, Facial Contouring, Cellulite Surgeries, Surgical Removal of Tattoos, Revision Liposuction and more. “My academic goal is to develop methods for the preservation of fat (human adipose tissue) and to do further research on harvesting stem cells from human adipose tissue for the cure of various skin disorders including but not limited to, hair loss and scars”. Dr. Khan attributes her success to her education in some of the best programs in the country and her mentors. “I took full advantage of every learning opportunity that came my way”, says Dr. Khan. Throughout the course of her education and training, Dr. Khan earned her degree in Pakistan in 1997, and then went on to complete additional training in Medicine and Dermatology at Drexel College of Medicine and the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey. In addition, she completed a four-year Laser Research Fellowship at Wellman Labs of Photo medicine – Department of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School, under the supervision of Dr. Richard Rox Anderson, as well as additional fellowships at Beckman Laser Institute at the University of California – Irvine and at the American College of Mohs Surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago. To further her professional development, Dr. Khan is a fellow member of American Academy of Dermatology; American Society of lasers in medicine and Surgery; American Society of Dermatologic Surgery; American College of Mohs Surgery and New York Society of Dermatology. Dr. Khan is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York Presbyterian Hospital. Some of Dr. Khan’s notable inventions are; Magnetite tattoos; Optical clearing of the human skin using a topical formulation; devices for the removal of tattoo inks; device for hyperhidrosis (patent pending). To honor her career accomplishments, Dr. Khan is the recipient of Doctor’s Choice award from leaders of Healthcare. In looking to the future, Dr. Khan hopes to expand her practice and conduct research related to, “human adipose tissue and in the field of lasers.” Dr. Khan attributes her success to her admissions into world renowned programs across the globe where she learned from the best mentors in the field of dermatology. Dr. Khan also attributes her perseverance and her, “ability to take full advantage of the opportunities that came my way,” as a factor in her success today. Dr. Khan has a deep love for art. Whether it’s painting, martial arts or cosmetic surgery; “I’m proud of what I do and what I create”. Dr. Khan spent a great deal of time learning the art of painting and sculpting. She is also a Ne-Dan (2nd degree black belt) in Samurai Sword martial arts. Dr. Khan is also an enthusiast traveler. She loves photography and travels a great deal. Some of Dr. Khan’s art and photography is exhibited in her office. Her passion is the Arctic where she has been following the climate changes due to global warming.
